8th Annual Big Bass Challenge - Results

July 19th, 2008

 
The 8th Annual Big Bass Challenge had 32 boats and 63 anglers entered in the contest.  Anglers from as far away as Kentucky enjoyed a great day fishing on Cedar Bluff Reservoir.  The morning started with a wonderful mostly overcast sky, that retreated into bluebird and windy conditions later in the day.  Despite the wind, anglers were rather successful early in the day utilizing topwater lures for bringing fish into the boat. Soft plastics dominated the later catches.

 

In the end, the big bass of the day was brought into the scales during the 9:00 hour.  Nick Brown and Cory Johnson hauled in a healthy 5.57 pound largemouth to take home top place honors.  This team only caught five fish during the entire day, but two of those fish were the two largest fish of the tournament.  Other results are reported below.                             

 

The club also raffled away two tickets and parking passes to the September qualifying day and NASCAR Race at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City.  Christine Davis from Park, KS was the lucky winner.
