Casting Kids is a spin off of the National Football Leagues, Punt, Pass, and Kick program.
The Bass Anglers Sportsman Society has created the CastingKids program. Children ages 7 through 10 and 11 through 14 may enter. Kids are judged on their ability to flip, pitch and cast bait after being tutored on the basics by club members. This program is intended to create an interest in fishing for youth and to help them develop skills that may be used later on actual fishing trips.
Contestant winners on the local level are eligible to compete on the state level. Winners at this stage win a sponsorship prize to compete at the semi-finals. The winners and parents receive an expense paid trip to compete at the Bassmaster Classic for the many student scholarships given as prizes.
This is boys and girls competing in a sport where there are no losers. Now that’s a winner!
