The last all day tournament of
the season started with a two hour weather delay on Wilson
Reservoir. Heavy rain and sharp lightning kept the anglers off the
water and in the dry conditions of their vehicles. The
tournament ended up being a showdown between Dan Basgall and Darrel
VonFeldt for Mr. Bass honors for 2007, with the winner of this last
event getting the title. Eight anglers fished for 7.5 hours,
and caught a total of 53 fish. This paper tournament allowed
the measuring of fish 12 inches long or more to be counted for the
tournament before being released back into the lake.
Thirty-three of the fish caught counted on the tournament catch
records. In the end, Dan Basgall edged out Darrel VonFeldt as
the winner of the tournament, and eventually as Mr. Bass for 2007.
The race was tight all season, and came down to the wire.
Congrats to both anglers on a great season.
